Bronchitis

Our subject today is about your lungs and the respiratory functions that you may had these signs once upon a time so listen carefully.
What is bronchitis ?
Bronchitis is an inflammation of the lining of your bronchial passages ( tubes ), which carry air to and from your lungs. People who have bronchitis often cough up thickened mucus, which can be discolored (green-red or yellow). It may be either acute or chronic bronchitis.
Often developing from a cold or other respiratory infection, acute bronchitis is very common. Chronic bronchitis, a more serious condition, is a constant irritation or inflammation of the lining of the bronchial tubes, often due to smoking.
Acute bronchitis usually improves within a few days without lasting effects, although you may continue to cough for weeks. However, if you have repeated bouts of bronchitis, you may have chronic bronchitis, which requires medical attention. Chronic bronchitis is one of the conditions included in chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD).
*Symptoms.
If it was acute bronchitis or chronic bronchitis, signs and symptoms may include with little difference in severity:
  • Cough
  • Production of mucus (sputum), which can be clear, white, yellowish-gray or green in color , it may be streaked with blood.
  • Fatigue.
  • Shortness of breath.
  • Slight fever and chills.
  • Chest discomfort.
If you have acute bronchitis, you may have a nagging cough that lingers for several weeks after the inflammation resolves. Chronic bronchitis is defined as a productive cough that lasts at least three months, with recurring bouts occurring for at least two consecutive years.
If you have chronic bronchitis, you're likely to have periods when your signs and symptoms worsen. At those times, you may have acute bronchitis on top of your chronic bronchitis.
When to get worry about it ?
See your doctor if your cough:
  • Lasts more than three weeks.
  • Prevents you from sleeping.
  • Is accompanied by fever higher than 100.4 F (38°c).
  • Produces discolored mucus.
  • Produces blood.
  • Is associated with wheezing or shortness of breath.
*Main causes are.
Acute bronchitis is usually caused by viruses, as same as viruses that cause colds and flu (influenza). Antibiotics don't kill viruses, so diffreent types of antibiotics aren't useful in most cases of bronchitis.
The most common cause of chronic bronchitis is smoking cigarettes, air pollution and dust or toxic gases in the environment or workplace also can contribute to the condition.
Complications
Although a single attack of bronchitis usually isn't cause for concern, it can lead to pneumonia in some people. Repeated bouts of bronchitis may indicate that you're developing chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD).
Diagnosis
During the first few days of illness, it can be difficult to distinguish the signs and symptoms of bronchitis from those of a common cold. During the physical exam, your doctor will use a stethoscope to listen closely to your lungs as you breathe.
In some cases, your doctor may tell you to make some investigations like:
1- Chest X-ray.
2- Sputum tests.
3- Pulmonary function test.
Treatment
In some circumstances, your doctor may prescribe medications, including:
  • Antibiotics. Bronchitis usually results from a viral infection, so antibiotics aren't effective. However, your doctor might prescribe an antibiotic if he or she suspects that you have a bacterial infection.
  • Cough medicine. It's best not to suppress a cough that brings up mucus, because coughing helps remove irritants from your lungs and air passages. If your cough keeps you from sleeping, you might try cough suppressants at bedtime.
  • Other medications. If you have allergies, asthma or chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), your doctor may recommend an inhaler and other medications to reduce inflammation and open narrowed passages in your lungs.
That's all for now, keep save and take care of your health.

Bell's pals

Bell's palsy is a form of temporary facial paralysis resulting from damage or trauma to the facial nerves. The facial nerve-also called the 7th cranial nerve-travels through a narrow, bony canal (called the Fallopian canal) in the skull, beneath the ear, to the muscles on each side of the face. For most of its journey, the nerve is encased in this bony shell.
Each facial nerve directs the muscles on one side of the face, including those that control eye blinking and closing, and facial expressions such as smiling and frowning. Additionally, the facial nerve carries nerve impulses to the lacrimal or tear glands, the saliva glands, and the muscles of a small bone in the middle of the ear called the stapes. The facial nerve also transmits taste sensations from the tongue.
When Bell's palsy occurs, the function of the facial nerve is disrupted, causing an interruption in the messages the brain sends to the facial muscles. This interruption results in facial weakness or paralysis.
Bell's palsy is named for Sir Charles Bell, a 19th century Scottish surgeon who described the facial nerve and its connection to the condition. The disorder, which is not related to stroke, is the most common cause of facial paralysis. Generally, Bell's palsy affects only one of the paired facial nerves and one side of the face, however, in rare cases, it can affect both sides.
1.Symptoms:
Because the facial nerve has so many functions and is so complex, damage to the nerve or a disruption in its function can lead to many problems. Symptoms of Bell's palsy can vary from person to person and range in severity from mild weakness to total paralysis.  These symptoms may include twitching, weakness, or paralysis on one or rarely both sides of the face.  Other symptoms may include drooping of the eyelid and corner of the mouth, drooling, dryness of the eye or mouth, impairment of taste, and excessive tearing in one eye. Most often these symptoms, which usually begin suddenly and reach their peak within 48 hours, lead to significant facial distortion.
Other symptoms may include pain or discomfort around the jaw and behind the ear, ringing in one or both ears, headache, loss of taste, hypersensitivity to sound on the affected side, impaired speech, dizziness, and difficulty eating or drinking.
2.The main causes of it:
Bell's palsy occurs when the nerve that controls the facial muscles is swollen, inflamed, or compressed, resulting in facial weakness or paralysis. Exactly what causes this damage, however, is unknown.
Most scientists believe that a viral infection such as viral meningitis or the common cold sore virus—herpes simplex—causes the disorder. They believe that the facial nerve swells and becomes inflamed in reaction to the infection, causing pressure within the Fallopian canal and leading to ischemia (the restriction of blood and oxygen to the nerve cells).  In some mild cases (where recovery is rapid), there is damage only to the myelin sheath of the nerve.  The myelin sheath is the fatty covering-which acts as an insulator-on nerve fibers in the brain.
The disorder has also been associated with influenza or a flu-like illness, headaches, chronic middle ear infection, high blood pressure, diabetes, sarcoidosis, tumors, Lyme disease, and trauma such as skull fracture or facial injury.
3.Diagnosis:
A diagnosis of Bell's palsy is made based on clinical presentation : including a distorted facial appearance and the inability to move muscles on the affected side of the face and by ruling out other possible causes of facial paralysis. There is no specific laboratory test to confirm diagnosis of the disorder.
Generally, a physician will examine the individual for upper and lower facial weakness.  In most cases this weakness is limited to one side of the face or occasionally isolated to the forehead, eyelid, or mouth.  A test called electromyography (EMG) can confirm the presence of nerve damage and determine the severity and the extent of nerve involvement.  Blood tests can sometimes be helpful in diagnosing other concurrent problems such as diabetes and certain infections.  A magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) or computed tomography (CT) scan can eliminate other structural causes of pressure on the facial nerve.
4.Treatment:
Bell's palsy affects each individual differently.  Some cases are mild and do not require treatment as the symptoms usually subside on their own within 2 weeks.  For others, treatment may include medications and other therapeutic options.  If an obvious source is found to cause Bell's palsy (e.g., infection), directed treatment can be beneficial.
Recent studies have shown that steroids such as the steroid prednisone -- used to reduce inflammation and swelling --are effective in treating Bell's palsy.  Other drugs such as acyclovir -- used to fight viral herpes infections -- may also have some benefit in shortening the course of the disease.  Analgesics such as aspirin, acetaminophen, or ibuprofen may relieve pain.  Because of possible drug interactions, individuals taking prescription medicines should always talk to their doctors before taking any over-the-counter drugs.
Another important factor in treatment is eye protection. Bell's palsy can interrupt the eyelid's natural blinking ability, leaving the eye exposed to irritation and drying.  Therefore, keeping the eye moist and protecting the eye from debris and injury, especially at night, is important.  Lubricating eye drops, such as artificial tears or eye ointments or gels, and eye patches are also effective.
Other therapies such as physical therapy, facial massage or acupuncture may provide a potential small improvement in facial nerve function and pain.
In general, decompression surgery for Bell's palsy -- to relieve pressure on the nerve -- is controversial and is seldom recommended.  On rare occasions, cosmetic or reconstructive surgery may be needed to reduce deformities and correct some damage such as an eyelid that will not fully close or a crooked smile.
Thanks for your patience :).

Children

  • we will talk about children and how can we care about them. Being mother or father is not an easy job at all as you should always take care of your young children and direct them to the true and wrong and teach them morals that they won't be taught in school.

To show your care not just through giving them healthy food or through taking them to and from school , but with asking them questions about themselves for example :
*who's your best friend ?
*what is the worst and best about mother and father ?
*what do you want to be when you grow up?
*what scares you ?
*what is the most amazing thing you want to do?

All this will help your children to express themselves and you will know them in a perfect way that makes you closer than ever.
You can take your child for a trip or for walking with you to make him more confident and encourage him for life to be strong.
Do your most for your children, Take care of your small stars as they will become a great sun one day :) .

Black life

Is it a strange title ?!
Black life what is this description, how can our life become black ?
Did you test these words :
 Anxiety - Depression - disappointment
When sometimes everything went wrong as you didn't expect that to happen!, as if the worst things happen to you only or you feel that you carry the world on your shoulders and feel you are in such a big prison.
Trying to harm yourself, crying in pain or even thinking about suicide to put end for all this mess.

No my friend you can't do that to your life you can't end this precious gift because of some bad luck. You can't give up now in the middle of the way, you have to be patient.
you think that you are the one  that all this mess happens to him? Sure no, many people had this issues to and said why not to give up life, but because they care about their families, their friends they knew how to get up again, how to get rid of all this hinders.
They changed their lifestyle making new things or making things you love or playing sport or reading some new books can change all this troubles. Thinking about what you can do with your gift ( life) how old can you live to change or to leave your fingerprint somewhere to be remembered forever.

In your black days, try walking in fresh air to think carefully not to take a reckless decisions that you will regret it in the future. Do yoga breath deeply and be optimistic again. See check what you have in your life that you can use to return back but now strongly than ever.
Think well, plan for your future and remember that it's just a black day not blacky life :) .
Thank you.

White coat

White coat syndrome which know as white coat hypertension in which the patient's blood pressure reaches high level when visiting a clinic.

In studies, white coat hypertension can be defined as the presence of a defined hypertensive average blood pressure in a clinic setting, although it isn't present when the patient is at home.Patients with white coat hypertension do not exhibit the signs indicative of trepidation and their increased blood pressure is often not accompanied by tachycardia.  This is supported by studies that repeatedly indicate that 15%–30% of those thought to have mild hypertension as a result of clinic or office recordings display normal blood pressure and no unusual response to pressure stimulus. These persons did not show any specific characteristics such as age that may be indicative of a higher susceptibility to white coat hypertension.

How to treat this syndrome ?!
individuals with white coat hypertension have lower morbidity than patients with sustained hypertension, but higher morbidity than the clinically normotensive.
There are many conflicting ideas revolve around whether or not it would be feasible to treat white coat hypertension, as there still is no conclusive evidence that a temporary rise in blood pressure during office visits has an adverse effect on health.
